Duck Herding

The client

The London office of a leading international management consultancy.

The date

June 2007

Client outcomes

  • To form links and bonds throughout all levels within the multinational London office staff, because many of the consultants spend more time in client offices than their own.
  • To show an appreciation for the families and partners who have to cope with the pressures of being “consultancy widows”.
  • To achieve the same results in the UK that Fortesqueue’s have previously achieved with this client in its non-UK offices.

The solution

A two day event:
Day 1 - Team bonding activity day with an on-site gala dinner
Day 2 - Family fun day on the banks of The River Thames

The creative idea

To make a stay in England the feature: a quintessentially English weekend.

The team-bonding day took place on the manicured lawns of an English manor house. Activities included duck herding, ferret racing, Morris Dancing, fly-casting and field archery. The day was capped by a gala dinner in the “Women’s Institute” marquee.

The family day was held on the lawns of a country mansion, sweeping down to The River Thames, with a traditional country fayre atmosphere.

Client feedback

"To see our most French consultant Morris Dancing with his international team, was a moment I will remember for ever."
