James Fisher Shipping – operating the largest coastal tank fleet in the UK

The date

June 2005

Client outcomes

To have completed the naming ceremony of the latest addition to the companies coastal tanker fleet, without disruption to the vessels commissioning schedule. The 13,000 tonne coastal tanker, MV Clyde Fisher, had a two day scheduled stop in Falmouth.

The solution

To transform a Cornish dockside into a prestigious product launch venue, for the naming ceremony, and to charter planes to bring company VIPs and press to the site.
To source a second site for a VIP reception and lunch from which the vessel could be seen as it sailed away to start its working life.

Quality

Fortesqueue’s sourced marquees, catering, transfers, guest speakers and entertainment of a quality that would not normally be seen outside London and ensured that strict timing schedules were met to the minute.
Two key moments were ensuring that the Champagne bottle smashed on cue, to avoid bad luck, and that all guests had their Champage glasses raised at exactly 1700 to toast the ship as she slipped her moorings and caught the tide.
